If I were an American or one of some types of Canadian, we’d be talking about the Porsche 919.

That not being the case, meet the Fiat 199, sold as the Grande Punto, then the Punto Evo and now just the Punto.

In each case it’s a standard looking small hatchback, designed by Giugiaro before he sold out to VW. Power is by the usual mix of petrol and diesel units from the 900cc Twinair up to a 1.9 diesel driving the front wheels through five or six manual gears or five automated ones.

No, it’s not very exciting is it? There was an Abarth one with a 1.4 turbo that could be chipped to 180 bhp but that isn’t too thrilling either. Nice stripes though.

They’re nice enough, I’d have one of them over a Corsa or Hyundai Blah. The Fiesta is much nicer though.

But it IS just a Corsa underneath, you can’t use normal Fiat wheels on them, only ones with GM’s offset, the Abarth Supersport version is lots of fun though!

I didn’t know that, it feels a lot better than a Corsa to drive at least. Plus you don’t get the terrible reputation attached...
